My work takes a very feminine and whimsical approach to escapism. I am influenced by Frida Kahlo, Aya Takano, Louis Wain, and Rene Magritte. A common theme between these artists is their focus on escapism and fabricating a world to get lost in. Through my art I want to create a world with feminine values that doesn't shame imaginative frivolity. I explore themes of girl/womanhood, historical perception, abstraction, positionality, and surrealism. I am inspired by art history, abstraction, the superflat movement, historical iconography and the surrealism movement. I combine mediums to create each piece, using all of my skills and techniques to make the most fulfilling works. I use painting, drawing, collage, 3D elements, digital programs, photography, and printmaking to create my pieces.
